Sail ties elastic, inc hook
Each tie is approx 14 inches ( 36 cm ) long unstretched, which will stretch to approx 25 inches ( 63 cm ).
These popular and extremely handy fittings comprise of a loop of 4mm diameter elastic shock fitted to a compact, but robust, plastic hook with a deep opening, partially gated with a small, projecting, internal lug. As well as offering attachment to a fixed point, the hooks are designed to offer a secure grip when hooked back over the 4mm cord so that the fitting can be used as a circular tie, ideal for securing rolled materials of all kinds.
Hook and loop bungees are widely used to secure rolled up sails, tarpaulins, trailer and boat covers, canvas, banners, marquee sides etc to frames and fixed points of all kinds. Also great for securing rolls of fabric, canvas etc and as sail tidies. Ideal for outside, automotive and marine use.
The fittings are strong and durable. The hook is impact resistant, thick cast, plastic. The elastic shock cord has a multi-filament natural rubber latex core sheathed in high-strength, UV resistant, polyethylene braiding. The size refers to the folded length of the un-stretched loop. The shock cord loop is capable of approximately 100% elongation, although, for safety reasons, we recommend that the fitting not be used with the loop extended more than 75%.
